MMIS Conferences: Medicaid Management Information Systems. Click for home. The annual MMIS conference brings together thought leaders from the public and private sectors to share ideas and information related to Medicaid systems and initiatives.

MMIS 2012 - Boston, MA
August 19 - 23

The agenda for the MMIS Conference is the responsibility of an Agenda Planning Committee comprised of members from the S-TAG (Systems Technical Advisory Group); CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); PSTG (Private Sector Technology Group); liaisons from the host State; and NESCSO.

Planning begins immediately after the prior year's conference. The host state suggests the theme and keynote speakers. Breakout sessions are created from a call for papers targeted at topics suggested by the Committee.

Industry presentations known as "Vendor Tracks” are not reviewed by the Committee. Topics for Vendor Tracks are chosen by the sponsor of the Vendor Track. There are fourteen (14) seventy-five minute sessions during which you may present the topic of your choice. Each vendor track sponsorship includes a 1/8 page ad in the conference program as well as the session abstract in the agenda.

If you do have immediate questions, please contact NESCSO at info@nescso.org.

Moderator Details

Presentations:

NESCSO does not require the presentations to be sent in advance. You should work out a schedule to ensure that you have a copy of the speakers' presentations in advance of the conference. Moderators are responsible for bringing the presentations to the session on a flash drive. We also ask that presenters follow this format for naming their final presentation: Day_First Word in Session Title_Last Name…so Rick Friedman's presentation on Eligibility 90/10 Funding on Tuesday would be Tuesday_Eligibility_Friedman.ppt.

Registrations:

Check with your speakers to be sure they have registered and inform them of the date, time and room number of the session. Speakers must register for the conference and will be charged a registration fee if they are planning on attending the conference for days in addition to their scheduled session.  NESCSO will waive the fee for those speakers only attending the conference on the day of their presentation. Those individuals should notify NESCSO (508.856.8229 or Karen.Alger@umassmed.edu ) so that we may be sure to include them in our count for meals etc. and provide them with a conference badge. Moderators also need to register for the conference.

Other Details to Note:

  • NESCSO will provide laptops loaded with MS Office applications and an LCD projector for all sessions.
  • Each session will have a conference staff member in the room to assist with technical issues or facility questions.
  • Speakers are responsible for printing and shipping any written handouts.
  • A speaker ready room equipped with a screen and LCD projector will be available throughout the conference.  The speaker ready room will not be equipped with a laptop.
